A study has been done in U.S which shows college students who frequently use Facebook do badly in their exams. What about Malaysian students?

  1. It all depends on each individual when it involves time management. Facebook is a social utility and it helps to connect long lost childhood friends or former classmates, former coursemates, colleagues and it helps us to find new interesting friends all over the globe too. Better yet,it helps to create a good network between students and teachers too :)

  2. so, ban Facebook?
after that, there will be another social networking utility.
    then another study.
    then another bad exam result.
    then, then, then...
    where is the end?
    hehe..

  3. Mahid, thanks for ur comment. Yeap i totally agree with u, if FB is banned ,there will surely be another social networking utility..true enough. There is no end when it comes to these type of networking utility. Well it's a pity certain IPTA blocked Facebook, Frenster and U-Tube too whenever the students r using the wireless connection when they r on-line. Like I said earlier exam results deteriorate or not, the networking utility shouldn't be blamed, just blame the users.

  5. Ooops! Then I have made a blunder in asking my Form Six students to join FB to improve their English. I think, just getting my students to use English meaningfully is something a social network like FB can provide. I mean, they don't use it in their daily conversations. At least, being in a social network that uses English, will at least get them to use the language. Correctness comes later. But not too late I hope!

  6. Fazilah and Rezza, thanks for your comments. I totally agree with you. Rezza I think it is alright if our students joined FB to improve their English. I strongly agree with you that by using Facebook the students will use English outside of their classrooms and better yet they can communicate not just with their peers only but also with the native speakers too :)

  9. That's not facebook false....... I think the student can't pay their attention to study because they don't like to study, they just like to fun... So they blame facebook because they failed in exam.......
